For years my wife, Lottie Tone, would always ask me the same question after I shared with her a new song I had written. "That song is about me, right?" She would ask. So....I wrote this song to finally answer her question!
Last year I ended up in the ER 5 different times with Idiopathic anaphylaxis. That is when you have life-threatening allergic reactions and nobody knows why. Anyway, happy to report I think we found the culprit and I am almost 6 months without an event. All good! Feeling great!! In the meantime, It was pretty scary. Inspired this tune.
Barbara Kingsolver wrote a novel titled Demon Copperhead. I'm not exactly sure why but I think the the character's struggles with booze and drugs helped inspire this one.
A couple of days ago a friend of mine told me that her mom had died. I did not know her mom yet I was struck by a deep sadness. I realized that since the beginning of year I had been pretty shut down emotionally. Felt like a good time to write this song.
